PRIMARY SCHOOL
In Primary we follow the Cambridge International Curriculum which is based on the British National Curriculum. We build on the firm base that children have received in the Foundation Stage and provide pupils with a broad and balanced curriculum that allows them to become confident and enthusiastic learners. The curriculum favours a practical and creative approach and encourages children to understand how their skills can be applied to real-life situations.
Pupils are taught by a native speaking, British-trained form teacher for most subjects, including English, Mathematics, Science, Global Perspectives, Art, Design & Technology and PSHE. Pupils receive lessons from specialist teachers in Physical Education, Music, Drama and French or mandarin. As required by law, pupils receive a daily lesson in Spanish (Lengua y Literatura) and weekly lessons of Cultura Española (which explores aspects of Spanish history, geography and culture not covered by the British curriculum). Pupils who are new to the language take Spanish as a Foreign Language classes. At the end of Key Stage Two, Year 6 pupils take the Cambridge Checkpoint Tests. At Sage College, these are internally marked.
Life at Sage is full of excitement and wonder. We are a community and have a very family orientated feel. We ensure each and every student is catered for and we pride ourselves on being student centered. Our curriculum is engaging whilst having high expectations and the small class sizes allow us to truly know your children through and through. Our teachers come from far and wide, from all areas of the globe and are inspiring and motivational in their approach to teaching and learning.
