ACCESS TO UNIVERSITY

Universities globally recognise the empowering certification provided by IGCSE, Advanced and Advanced Subsidiary qualifications.

The A-Level program gives access to all Spanish, UK and International Universities worldwide. The school prepares students well in advance with career guidance, undertaken by staff. Mr MAclean, our High School Head, works in collaboration with A-level teachers and the Head of School to ensure the school has updated information (including booklets, university prospectuses, leaflets and videos) and can suitably guide the students in their choices. Teachers take great care to advise students about university selection and application, so students feel prepared and knowledgeable about their choices and the entrance process.

Previous Sage College graduates have applied to a broad range of universities listed below:

ACCESS TO SPANISH PUBLIC UNIVERSITIES

Apart from university entry through A-Levels, students aiming to enhance their qualifications can opt to prepare for and undertake the “Specific Competency Tests” for admission to all Spanish public universities.

This opportunity is facilitated by a program offered by Sage College, granting our students access to any university in Spain, whether public or private. Additionally, this approach proves advantageous for reinforcing specific segments of content covered in the corresponding A-Level subjects.

For university admission, students are required to possess 5 IGCSEs and 3 or 4 A-Levels. The overall university entry score is determined by the A-Level grades attained. Typically, the conversion process is overseen by UNED. The calculation methodology is as outlined below:

GRADE CALCULATOR

For university admission, students are required to possess 5 IGCSEs and 3 or 4 A-Levels. The overall university entry score is determined by the A-Level grades attained. Typically, the conversion process is overseen by UNED. The calculation methodology is as outlined below:

Grade Conversion Calculator 1-10

Enter grade:

Scale 1-10

  1. Each AS/A level has, depending on the grade obtained, its particular UCAS Tariff Points, as shown in the table above.
  2. The UCAS Tariff points of each AS/A levels are added together, giving the sum of all of them.
  3. This sum (Puntos UCAS) is included in the following formula, and the calculation to get the final grade in the Spanish conversion is made:

    Ne = 5 + (Puntos UCAS – 48) x 5 / 176)

Ne: Final grade after the conversion

Puntos UCAS: Sum of all UCAS Tariff points of each AS/A level subject

Scale 10-14

Spanish Public Universities: Achieving a score of 14 points entails completing 2 “específicas” subjects as part of the Spanish EvAU. The selection of these 2 “específicas” subjects is contingent upon the “Tablas de Ponderación,” thus necessitating a personalised assessment for each student.
