Thursday, the 22nd of March, the First International Science Congress for Secondary Students will take place at Sage College.
The international school (http://www.szkola-dwujezyczna.pl/) from Warsaw, who we are collaborating with, will show some science projects that their students have developed during this year. Moreover, students from the British School of Tenerife (http://www.britishschooltenerife.com/en/) are also coming in order to take part in the Science Congress, and their students will show a very interesting project (they will be at Sage College from the 20th to the 24th of March, and will participate in different activities, organised by our school, with our friends from Poland and our students during the week).
Our Year 10 students are also going to show the amazing projects in which they have been working during February with their Science teachers. Here we can see them practising their presentations for the congress. It is being a fantastic opportunity to improve the communication skills or to use the inquiry-based learning, important for their future. Finally, a scientist from University of Cádiz is going to give a speech about the importance of science and to talk about some investigations that are being carried out at the University.
We are looking forward to starting the congress. Our students will enjoy a wonderful experience, sharing activities with new friends during the week before their holidays.
El próximo jueves 22 de marzo tendrá lugar el I Congreso Internacional de Ciencias para Alumnos de Secundaria en Sage College.
Alumnos del colegio internacional (http://www.szkola-dwujezyczna.pl/) de Varsovia, con el cual estamos colaborando, mostrarán los proyectos de ciencias que han desarrollado este año. Además, alumnos del British School of Tenerife (http://www.britishschooltenerife.com/en/) participarán también en dicho congreso, presentado su interesante proyecto (estos alumnos estarán en nuestro centro del 20 al 24 de marzo, y participarán en diferentes actividades organizadas por nuestro colegio durante la semana junto a nuestros amigos de Polonia y nuestros alumnos).
Estudiantes de Año 10 de nuestro centro participarán también en el congreso, mostrando las investigaciones que han llevado a cabo durante el mes de febrero junto a sus profesores de ciencias. Aquí los podemos ver practicando sus presentaciones. Está siendo una fantástica oportunidad para mejorar las habilidades de comunicación o para el uso de un aprendizaje por indagación científica, importantes para su futuro.
Finalmente, un científico de la Universidad de Cádiz dará una charla el día del congreso sobre la importancia de la ciencia y acerca de algunas investigaciones que se están llevando a cabo en dicha Universidad.
Estamos deseando que comience el congreso. Nuestros estudiantes vivirán una maravillosa experiencia, compartiendo actividades con los amigos de Polonia y Canarias durante la semana previa a las vacaciones.
